Summer Shenanigans
Create and Execute a READING LIST
Why?
Have you ever heard "you are your environment" ?
I sure have!! This got me thinking.. I can't always surround myself with successful people or especially millionaires..how do I make them my environment? SOLUTION: Read about them, read their books, read their blogs, ect. See their advice and how they think. Guess what? Several successful people have stated they read AT LEAST one self-development book a month. Maybe you should too..
My Suggestions? This are my personal MUST reads. Still trying to get through this list but my #bossbabes and mentors have suggested these. These are great for self-development and #bossbabe food for thought.
- You Are a Badass By Jen Sincero
- #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso
- I am THAT girl by Alexis Jones
- START by Jon Acuff
- Go Pro by Eric Worre
- The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
- Contagious by Jonah Berger
- Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba
- The Universe has your back by Gabrielle Bernstein
- The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley
- Leave Your Mark by Aliza Licht
- The Champagne Diet by Cara Alwill Leyba
Personal Enjoyment Reads..
- While My Soldier Serves by Edie Melson
- Any Sara Dessen book
- Nicholas Sparks
- The Beach House by Mary Alice Monroe
I still love the smell and feel of a real book so I purchase paperback normally. I highly suggest Amazon (Prime) for the best prices on reads and fast shipping, maybe even browsing your library's store or a local thrift shop.
Do some DIY's
Look online on Youtube or Pinterest for some suggestions or step-by-steps that could help your every day lives, interior decor, or something just for shenanigans.
Preview to some of my upcoming DIY's that I'll be sharing with y'all...
- fun ways to choose date night our bucket list activities
- refurbishing a Marshall's clearance item for my wedding pics
- something for the hubby
ADVENTURE
- Go on a road trip with friends (tip: look up budget hacks or free activities for where you might explore online/Pinterest )
- Self-reflect on a hike with your best pal (mine happens to be furry)
- find a local farmers market and explore all of this seasons gifts
- Yelp booming food restaurants (options for all budgets!) and plan a luncheon or meet up. My current fave is LYFE Kitchen.
- Groupon!! Look up local deals. I love this for date night, mommy-me time, or for a fun adventure with my little brother.
- Go to the local zoo
- Volunteer for a cause that means something to you
- Find a local field or outdoor setting and have a photoshoot
- Look up upcoming local activities or street fairs. Step outside your comfort zone, you might be surprised!
I know there are many many more summer shenanigans, but here are a few of my suggestions and things I plan to do too!
